What is Kisspeptin-10?

The short active C-terminal decapeptide of kisspeptin, used in research for acute LH/FSH stimulation.

How it works

Direct KISS1R agonism on GnRH neurons triggering gonadotropin release.

What it has been studied for

  • Stimulates GnRH, LH, and FSH in a pulsatile, physiological manner
  • Raises endogenous testosterone and estrogen levels
  • Enhances sexual motivation and attraction at the limbic brain level
  • May improve mood, emotional connection, and pair-bonding
  • Useful for hypogonadotropic hypogonadism without suppressing the HPG axis
  • Emerging research shows benefit for both male and female libido
  • Acts upstream of testosterone — addresses root hormonal signaling

These are effects reported or investigated in research, much of it preclinical. They are not proven outcomes or health claims.

Published research

  • Human infusion studies show rapid dose-dependent LH rises

Half-life

Very short — minutes

Cautions

Investigational; tachyphylaxis with continuous exposure.

Side effects & fixes

Common side effects

  • —Hot flashes or flushing
  • —Headache
  • —Mood changes
  • —Injection-site reactions

Histamine reactions

Flushing is common; site itching occasionally.

Common fixes

  • These are prescriber-managed — report side effects to your clinician, who may adjust the schedule.
  • Rotate injection sites (abdomen, thighs, upper arms) and stay at least an inch from the last spot.

Stop and get help

  • Severe headache, vision changes, or severe abdominal or pelvic pain.
  • Stop and get emergency help for swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, trouble breathing, widespread hives, chest pain or fainting.

Basis: Prescribing information. Educational only, not medical advice.

Medication concerns

Theoretical: no human interaction studies
  • Hormone treatments (testosterone, estrogen, GnRH drugs, fertility medicines)

Kisspeptin works through the same reproductive hormone axis; effects can overlap or cancel out.

  • Hormone lab tests

LH, FSH and sex hormone results can shift around doses.

  • Everything else you take, including supplements

Bring a full list of medicines and supplements to your pharmacist or clinician before starting.

Basis: No interaction studies; concerns follow from its action on the GnRH axis. Educational only, not medical advice. Never stop or change a prescribed medicine without your prescriber.
