Common fixes

Medication concerns

From FDA prescribing information
  • Medicines that prolong the QT interval (some antiarrhythmics, antipsychotics, ondansetron, macrolide antibiotics)

Long-term hormone suppression can prolong QT; labels advise caution with these.

  • Diabetes medicines

GnRH agonists can raise blood sugar; glucose is monitored.

  • Medicines that raise prolactin (risperidone, metoclopramide)

The triptorelin label advises against using them together.

  • Hormone and fertility lab tests

Results of pituitary and sex hormone tests can be misleading during treatment.

  • Everything else you take, including supplements

Bring a full list of medicines and supplements to your pharmacist or clinician before starting.

Basis: FDA prescribing information for leuprolide, triptorelin, goserelin and degarelix. Educational only, not medical advice. Never stop or change a prescribed medicine without your prescriber.
