What is SNAP-8?

An elongated argireline analog that modulates SNARE-complex formation, reducing neurotransmitter release at facial neuromuscular junctions when applied topically.

What it has been studied for

  • Reduces appearance of fine lines
  • Targets expression wrinkles (forehead, eyes)
  • Topical cosmetic application

These are effects reported or investigated in research, much of it preclinical. They are not proven outcomes or health claims.

Published research

  • Small cosmetic-industry studies report reduced wrinkle depth with topical use

Half-life

Short — minutes to hours (topical cosmetic peptide)

Cautions

Cosmetic ingredient; not intended for injection.

Basis: Cosmetic-ingredient safety assessments. Educational only, not medical advice.

Medication concerns

Theoretical: no human interaction studies
  • Prescription retinoids (tretinoin), acids and benzoyl peroxide

Applied on the skin, these peptides have no meaningful medication interactions; layering with strong actives can raise irritation.

Basis: Topical cosmetic peptides with minimal absorption into the body. Educational only, not medical advice. Never stop or change a prescribed medicine without your prescriber.
